A Message from the Executive Director

The Housing Authority City of Odessa, Texas, was established in 1950 but remained dormant until 1975 when the Department of Housing and Urban Development allocated 208 Certificates to provide rental subsidies to needy families.

Fast forward to 2022, we are still strong in spite of COVID-19 and its challenges. The combined subsidy in our community since inception has risen from the original $150,000.00 to over $60,320,214.00, which includes the Housing Choice Voucher as well as the Public Housing Programs.

At this point, I want to extend a special thank you to the entire Staff for their dedication, hard work, and untiring labor assisting the tenants while keeping up with the constant changes. I am thankful to the Board of Commissioners for their Commitment to Excellence, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Local Officials, Landlords, Tenants, and those Community Partners that have helped to make our many programs a success. It is our goal to stay the course and provide Decent, Safe, Sanitary, and Affordable Housing.

Finally, please note that as inflation continues to rise, we are still available to provide the needed assistance.

All the Best for the remainder of 2022 and into the coming year as we forge ahead to improve the quality of life for the families that we serve.

"UNITED WE STAND"
